Grape Variety : Barbera 100%

 

Vineyards : Estate Doña Elsa of 140 hectares is situated in Rama Caida, San Rafael, Mendoza, at 750m. above sea level. This estate takes the name of Don Valentin’s wife and there is an antique house which belonged to Elsa’s parents.

Rama Caida is one of the coolest areas in San Rafael. Sandy calcareous soil of alluvial origin.

Winemaking Process

Manual picking, crushing and fermentation of crushed grape by sowing selected yeasts in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Periodic pump-overs during the fermentation process, separation of liquid from the solids and pressing, natural stabilization in stainless steel tanks before the blends mare made bottling.

 

Oenological Characteristics

The initial appeal of this wine is its delicate floral and strawberry aromas.

On the palate it is a medium-light bodied wine with clean, enjoyable fruit. A good food wine and for those who enjoy trying something different.

 

Serving Temperature : The ideal is around 20ºC.

The Barbera is supple. Very ripe and grapey in flavor, with spicy overtones. Smooth, long finish.
