Harvest: Hand-harvested in April 1996.

Vinification:

Fermented in stainless steel tanks with a long maceration. Half of the wine was aged in small Bordeaux oak barrels for 8 months followed by 6 months of bottle ageing. Bottled in October 1997.

Alcohol: 12.7% 

pH: 3.67

Acidity: 3.1g/l (Sulfuric Acid)

Residual Sugar: 1.7g/l

Tasting Notes:

Beautiful purple rim and dense, deep garnet core. In the mouth, spice and vanillin are evident with hints of pepper. The ripe tannins are integrated, producing a well-balanced and very approachable wine. Can be drunk now or cellared for several years.
