Proprietor: Maison Riviere Fils, with vineyards boasting an ideal exposition in the commune of Illats.
Vineyard: Chateau Bel-air is one of the oldest properties in the commune of the Illats in the heart of the Graves winegrowing region. The surface area is 21 hectares of which 14 are planted in red grapes (40% Merlot, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon) and 7 hectares in white grapes (80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon).
Characteristics: Very aromatic, elegant and fruity, the white wines can be drunk both while they are young and still have their freshness, and vigour and after ageing in the bottle a few years.
Awards: The 1996 Chateau de Callac sec "Cuvee Prestige" vinified in new oak barrels and left on the lees won the Medaille de Bronze Paris 1996.
Demi-sec: The Chateau de Callac also produces a Graves Superieur Blanc, a semi-sweet wine ideal chilled as an aperitif or with a dessert. |
