|
Proprietor: Maison Riviere Fils, with vineyards boasting an ideal exposition in the commune of Illats.
Vineyard: Chateau Bel-air is one of the oldest properties in the commune of the Illats in the heart of the Graves winegrowing region. The surface area is 21 hectares of which 14 are planted in red grapes (40% Merlot, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon) and 7 hectares in white grapes (80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon).
Characteristics: The red wines show both great strength and finesse, due to the very harmonious and well-balanced tannins. The 1995 and 1996 vintages are powerful wines with complex tannins, which in time will be remarkable.
Awards: 1994 vintage was awarded the Bronze Medal at the Paris Agricultural Show 1996. 1996 vintage was awarded the Silver Medal at the "Concours Blayais-Bourgeais 1998" |
