(Haut Medoc Cru Grand Bourgeois Exceptionnel) : Louis Vialard whom

Robert Parker says "one of Bordeaux's most dedicated proprietors, ... produces

one of the Best Cru Bourgeois wines of the Central Medoc".

Average age of the vines : 30 years. Aged in oak barrels for 12 months.

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc

 

Characteristics:

Rich deep red colour with flashes of purple; complex nose of blackberry

with notes of spice and oak; elegant structure with suppleness and soft tannins

which give this wine lots of charm; good potential for ageing.

 

Recommendations:

Open bottle and allow to breath for 1/2 hour before serving at 18 C.

Goes very well with duck, lamb, roast pork, and beef dishes.
