The Domaine de Beychevelle is one of the oldest Bordeaux Supérieur;

the name was created and copyrighted before Chateau Beychevelle

AOC Saint Julien Grand Cru Classé.

 

Vineyard & Production:

This property was the craddle of Commandant Cousteau's family from the middle of 15th century. Located on the village of Saint André de Cubzac, on the high hills (clayey limestone terroir) dominating the Dordogne river with South / Southwest exposure. Old Vines : average 60 years. Matured in oak barrels for 9 months.

70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc

 

Characteristics:

Deep and bright red colour with purple flashes which shows the depth and

concentration of the wine; oaky nose with vanilla hints; charming and round

wine with fine tannins; potential to age over 5 years.
